The Development of Human Greek Scriptures essays During the Archaic (600b.c. - 480b.c.), Classical (480b.c. - 320b.c.) and Hellenistic (320b.c. - 30b.c.) periods, the developments of Greek freestanding sculpture and the human body progressed considerably. The forms and features of the human sculpture changed dramatically from generation to generation. While each time period developed a knowledge and understanding of the human body and its anatomy, the forms of human sculptures began to mature and change. Many wonderful masterpieces came from these time periods, each showing art forms in a new light. Three freestanding sculptures from different time periods in ancient Greek will be discussed in detail throughout this paper. The sculptures will show how the development of the human anatomy became fine-tuned. Each sculpture shows life and expressions in a manner that is unique and sensitive. The first sculpture is from the Archaic period and is called the New York Kouros (580b.c.), also known as Apollo. It is made from marble and stands at 6 4. This sculpture is located at the Metropolitan Museum of art in New York City. The second sculpture is the Spear Bearer (450b.c.), which is from the Classical period. The original was made from marble and is 6 6. This sculpture was originally at the athletic field in Pompeii, but is now at the Museum of Naples. Lastly will be the sculpture of Laocoon and his sons (50b.c.) from the Hellenistic period. This sculpture is also made from marble and its height is 8 tall. To see this dramatic masterpiece people must travel to the Vati can Museum in Rome. He directs us to make the choice to take actions that will change our lives for the better. I enjoyed reading this book. It has something to offer to everyone. I believe it should be required reading for all college students. Zig Ziglar teaches people to take responsibility for their lives instead of making excuses. He does refer to God and make references to the bible, but you don’t need to be a Christian, have a religion or even believe in God to benefit from reading this book. It is filled with practical principles useful in everyday life for everyday people. In terms of education, the book provides an abundance of information that could impact the way educational administrators manage our schools, as well as shape the knowledge of educators. For example, the book discusses the premise that when we help other people get what they want this helps us to get to the top and beyond. What does this mean in terms of education? Well, if the principals and administrators in charge would help the teachers get what they want it would probably improve the overall academic environment. When administrators are effective leaders, and give guidance and supervise with more of an authoritative approach as opposed to an authoritarian approach, it would lead to more positive results. According to Ziglar, authoritarian people simply say that you must do something because they say so. An authoritative person would explain the reason why a certain decision was made and why it is best to move in that direction. Thus, an authoritative principal treats his or her faculty members with respect, and authoritative teachers, likewise, treat their students with respect. Moreover â€Å"all of us perform better and more willingly when we know why we’re doing what we have been told or asked to do,† (p. 77). This applies equally to children as it does to adults. The book also points out the importance of being dedicated and feeling positive pride. There are a lot of administrators and teachers dedicated to the field of education. However, society in general seems to lack respect for educators; teachers are often blamed for many social problems such as the deviant behavior and poor academic ability of today’s young people, while parents and society at large are assigned little responsibility for these problems. Over the Top will actually help teachers feel more pride in being teachers. They will know that they can make a positive difference in the lives of their students. The book will motivate them to set goals both inside and outside the classrooms and take the steps necessary to accomplish those goals. They will be committed to being excellent teachers regardless of the financial compensation because they will know that eventually they will be rewarded. Being rich alone does not equal success. Zig Ziglar informs readers that being successful, and over the top includes being â€Å"happy, healthy, reasonably prosperous, and secure, to have friends, peace of mind, good family relationships, and hope,† (p. ). World War II was one of the most deadly wars we know in history, having as many as sixty million casualties, most of whom were civilians. It impacted a lot of countries, almost all the world, which is why the name is given. This war impacted many countries in the world, and damaged almost all of the countries involved greatly. It also led to the downfall of Western European countries as world powers, leaving it to the Soviet Union, and the United States. The war started in 1939 and ended in 1945, with the invasion of Poland and the Axis surrender, respectively. It changed the economy and the growth of big countries, including Germany, Great Britain, United States, Japan, Russia and France. Aside from this, Jews were greatly influenced too. They were damaged, but then gifted. The war started in September 1, 1939 when Germany invaded the territory of Poland, which was allied with Great Britain and France. German officials signed a peace treaty in August 24-25 with the Soviet Union to prevent them from acting in the invasion and to stay in peace between both countries. So Great Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand declared war on Germany the day of September 3, 1939. After this event, Canada also declared war on Germany at September 10, 1939. Germany rapidly crushed Poland, since it had an incredible army with 100 infantry divisions and six armored divisions. Due to the peace treaty between Germans and Soviets, in September 17th the Soviet also invaded and took eastern Poland. Later in the year, on November 30th, the USSR invaded Finland while Great Britain and France where occupied with Germany. At this time, Japan was in the Far East, and had Asia in turmoil.
